POSC, in our efforts to promote retention and happy, healthy relationships, provides either a 6-week training course or in-home management program
for dogs who need a little extra guidance in adapting to their new home and pack members. Also, when adopting puppies under 1 year old, adopters
are required to attend puppy socialization classes at their own expense.

I can be kind of timid and fearful when I first meet people. Please give me a few minutes to warm up to you and
then I will astound you with my super personality. I'm really lots of fun and can't wait to bond with someone who
will, finally, give me the opportunity to find out what the good life is in my very own home. And, since I require
Puppy Classes, I'll be lots more sociable and people friendly after being exposed to proper training. I do love
cuddling when I feel comfortable with someone and I will definitely make it worth your while to help me past my
shyness. I'm good with other doggies and wouldn't mind being the second canine kid in your home. Meanwhile, I'll
just sit here and look cute until someone realizes that I'm the perfect choice for them.
Good tempered and eager to meet people, I'm one of the many dogs who was transferred here from Lancaster. I'm so grateful to be
at Pet Orphans and I'm more than ready for the next chapter of my life story…the one where I'm adopted by people who will
give me a home. I'm not even sure what a real home is. I do know that I can't wait to be settled into a loving environment where
I can feel safe, secure, and LOVED for the first time in my life and for the rest of my life. After the loneliness I've endured,
I feel I deserve all this and more. It's pretty amazing that I'm as people friendly as I am, after the treatment I've endured.
But, I can't help feeling that most folks are kind and caring and that my heroes will come for me before too long. Approach my
kennel run and I'll come right up to you…hoping for some human contact…hoping for some kindness. Please don't let
me down.

BRUCE
My Helping Hero
Bruce, You are so adorable! You will be very happy in your new home!
An amiable, exuberant, young adult, I simply adore spending time with people. Whether we're engaged in an activity
like going for a walk, or working on some training, I relish every moment spent with a human. I'm even thrilled when
someone sits in my kennel run with me…sharing time and some loving. I also get a whole lot of pleasure from
running around in the yard here, playing fetch or just stretching my legs. Only thing is, I sure wish I was running
around in my own yard instead…ya know? I find it hard to believe that I haven't been adopted yet. Why haven't
any people cared enough about me to want to share their lives with me? I just can't figure out why I'm one of the
"long timers" here. Sometimes, I feel very sad because I've been waiting for so long to be chosen be someone's
special canine kid. Okay…enough of my pity party. The truth is, I simply want to share my joy at being alive with
my very own people. I'll fit in just about anywhere and I hope you'll hurry in to meet me and find that I'm the missing
link in your life. If you're looking for someone to remind you how special you are, I won't let you down.
When I first got here, I was pretty terrified. I was soooo shy. Luckily, it didn't take long for me to get
comfortable with my surroundings. Now I feel much freer to share with people what an astounding little guy
I am. I adore getting ear and neck scratches. Playful with people, I also sure do love playing with toys.
And, once I know someone, I won't hesitate climbing into their lap so that we both can get some much
needed cuddles and lovin'. It brings me joy to bestow affection upon humans who spend time with me and I
can't wait to be in my very own home where I can give and get bunches of TLC. All this and the fact that
I'm absolutely, undeniably adorable will, hopefully, bring you here to meet me. You'll be delighted with
my terrific personality and I know that you'll find me as enchanting as I find myself!

I can't believe that I'm the resident who's been here the longest! Unique and gregarious, I cherish time spent with
humans and love going for walks. Basically, I'm a smiley, playful girl who's eagerly awaiting someone to come in and
discover what an astounding dog I am. Delightfully "different" looking, I've decided to allow my unusual
facial structure to be an advertisement for my phenomenal personality. A big girl with a huge heart, I'll be forever
grateful for the opportunity to show my special someone how much love, light and laughter I'll add to their existence.
Easy going and eager to discover the joy of belonging, I'm also extremely active and I don't enjoy spending so much
time in a kennel run. I'd so much rather be out, playing somewhere, with someone I love. Therefore, I'm putting out
this plea. Come on in and meet me. I dare you to do this without smiling! I promise you that your life will be extra
special with me by your side!

I'm a good looking pup who needs a home to grow up in. I really don't think it's fair that a child like myself
should have to reach maturity while living in a kennel run. I need to discover what it's like to live with people
who will help me to grow up to be a good mannered, well adjusted boy. I love to play and I hope that some will soon
recognize me as the spectacular kid I am. So, come on…aren't you looking for someone to lovingly guide through
life? Aren't you looking for me?

Hello, I'm Glenda. Aren't I pretty? As you can see by the smile on my face, I'm a happy girl. I'm also extremely
eager to connect with my special someone. I was here when I was younger and I was so happy to be adopted. Sadly,
it didn't work out, so I'm here again. I'm longing to be in my own home where I can feel secure and loved, and grow
old with people who appreciate me for the remarkable dog I am. Affectionate and playful, I'll do everything in my
power to bring smiles to your face daily. Full grown and full of hugs, I should share with you that I can jump over
some fences and I can also climb them, so you need to have fencing in your yard that I can't manipulate my way out
of! If you have another dog, bring him or her along to meet me. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you…I'm very smart
and I'm willing to learn whatever you want to teach me. I feel that I'm missing out on so much that life has to offer
and I can't wait to learn what it's like to be in my own place, with people who will give me the permanent home I deserve.

My name describes my temperament perfectly! In fact, one of the volunteers here calls me Sweet Pea, which is also a perfect
description of me. I'm proud to be recognized as such a cheerful critter. I've got to admit that my excellent disposition and
the constant smile on my face is surprising, given the sadness I've lived with until now. Coming from the horrible living
situation in Lancaster, I've somehow managed to retain my positive outlook on life. I will make a remarkable canine companion
for whoever decides to give me what I so desperately yearn for…a home of my own. Here, at Pet Orphans, I'm beginning to
get a taste of kindness that I've heard about and longed for. I've also gotten a hint of what it's like to be cared
about…REALLY cared about. The idea of living in a place where I'll be recognized and appreciated as the remarkable dog I
am is almost overwhelming. If you know anything about Pit Bulls, you know that we are a loving, loyal, and smart breed. I'm
just asking for the chance to grab a little happiness by being your love bug. And, in return, I'll give you more adoration then
you've ever experienced. So…will you, at least, give me a chance to prove that what I'm promising you is true?
Although I can be somewhat shy when I first meet people, it doesn't take long for me to warm
up and show folks what a special doggie I am. In fact, I adore having long conversations with
people who are petting me. Honestly…I'm not hesitant to vocalize my pleasure when
being scratched in "just the right places." Perhaps, we can have a soul touching
chit chat when you come to meet me. We can really get to know each other before you adopt me
and take me home for my happy ending. Anyway, be sure to ask the Kennel people about this
amazing ability I have to let my feelings known! I also love to cuddle in trusted people's
laps and I walk very well on a leash. So, whatcha waiting for? Come on in…ask for
Henry, and get ready to be impressed!

You know the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Well, please don't judge me by my breed.
Although, hopefully, you're educated about Pit Bulls, and you know that we are loving, loyal, and incredibly
affectionate. I was, thankfully, transferred here from a horrendous living situation in Lancaster. I, along
with many other canines, was blessed and fortunate to end up at Pet Orphans. Now, I'm praying that I'll find a
real, everlasting, home soon. I'm a bit timid when I first meet people as I haven't (until now) been fortunate
enough to have many kind souls in my life. I'm young and eager to bond with the people who will give me what I've
yearned for my entire life…human love and kindness. I'm praying that I don't have to wait long. I'm so
grateful to be away from the horrors I was forced to endure, and I'm deeply grateful to the comforts I have here.
Now, all I truly want is to discover what true belonging is. Please, oh please, allow me the opportunity to impress
you with my magnetic personality and undying devotion. I'll do everything in my power to be the most incredible
canine companion you could ever hope for.

Whether you ask me to shake hands or not, I'll gladly offer you my paw and even a kiss or two. Super people friendly,
I'm starting to feel desperate to connect with someone who will adopt me and offer me the secure home life I crave. I
came in here with my babies and nursed them until they were ready to be weaned. Then, they all got adopted (thank the
heavens) and now I'm all alone, wondering why I haven't found my own true love yet. I've been here way too long and
I'm begging you to give me the chance to prove to you what an incredible, smart girl I am. Inside and outside, I'm a
beautiful, active, loving creature who's long overdue for a home of my own. Then, I'll finally know what it's like to
share permanent, true love. Even though I don't like other dogs in my space, I have so much love inside of me…aching
to be shared with humans that you won't need another critter in your home…you'll just need me! I truly don't see
how anyone can resist my charms. Did I mention that I adore belly rubs? I also love playing with toys and, just like a kid,
I can amuse myself for the longest time. I even toss my toys in the air and catch them myself! Wheeeee!!! Please choose me
to be your one and only.

I'm beautiful, aren't I? I'm SO ready to begin my life as a beloved family member of someone who will understand that I need some
time to warm up to people before I show my true, loving self. See, I was one of the dogs who lived in miserable conditions in Lancaster.
I'm trying to get over my initial shyness, and with the help of people I trust, I know that I'll, soon, blossom into the trusting,
astounding dog I know is within me. It's hard, I guess, for some folks to understand what it's like for a dog who has been deprived of
human socialization and then is suddenly thrust into a situation where all kinds of people are around. It's wonderful to get to know
them…but, at the same time, it's kind of scary when you don't know what the person is going to do to you. I'm incredibly grateful
to be here, but I'd truly like to know what it's like to live in a home, where I can thrive and share affection with my guardians. Will
you help me?

A super active and affectionate canine, I'm barely an adult and I want to discover what it feels like to belong with experienced dog people
who truly care about me. Going on long walks is one of my favorite things to do (besides getting lots of love from humans). I'm really not
thrilled to be living in a shelter environment when I could be in my very own home space, knowing how wonderful it feels to be a beloved family
member. I notice some of the other residents here, leaving with people who have chosen them to be part of their family, and I wonder, "why
not me?" You'd be passing up a terrific opportunity to find true love if you pass up the chance to get to know, and adopt me. By the way,
I'm really cute and have a great, outgoing personality. And, F.Y.I., I really do NOT enjoy being an orphan.

Peppy and full of love for humans, I'm a youthful girl who seeks my permanent home where I can settle in and
realize the true meaning of happiness. From my saucy personality to my heart of gold, I'll be forever grateful
to the people who give me the security I crave. Please don't make me wait long before I can relax and truly
discover how it feels to be a member of a family. I'll do best in a home where the people are experienced dog
guardians because I need to be reminded that I'm NOT the leader of our pack. I really will be grateful when
someone decides that I'm the girl for them and I can receive the training I need. Then, knowing that I'm secure
in my home, I can focus on simply being the adorable, playful little doggie I am.
Hi there, I'm Linus and I'm way too cute to be living in a shelter environment! I'm a small guy…able to fit
perfectly into just about any living situation. And, although I'm petite in size, my heart is huge and I have gobs
of love to share with the people who adopt me. Since I get along well with other dogs, bring your current critter
along with you when you come here. We can meet and bond while you get to know me. I really don't understand why I'm
not already in my own home and I hope that I get adopted quickly. I'm eager to learn what being secure in love and
commitment feels like. Come on in to meet me and I know that you'll be impressed by my charming personality. I sure
will enhance your life…I promise!

When I was first transferred here from Lancaster, I was quite fearful of people. I'm beginning to learn what trust
and caring is. I'm also starting to be aware that life CAN be good…away from the dismal living situation I
was trapped in. I thank the wonderful people here for rescuing me from the despicable life I was living, and I'm
trying to pick myself up (with their help) and create a new life for myself. I'll do best in an adult home and I
know that I'll benefit greatly from the training that is required when I'm adopted. I'm actually able to come up to
the front of my kennel run now and greet folks when they stop to say hello to me. I also am getting comfortable on
a leash and I know that, before long, I'll come out of my shell and be more than ready to live a normal life in my
own home. I'm a sweet, adult dog who honestly feels that I deserve this chance. I can't believe how good a hug
feels…I want more. I also want to be able to live out the rest of my life as the beloved companion of someone
who realizes how much love I'm holding inside, and how much I have to give.
Nine pounds of cuteness…that's me! I just want you to know that I'm filled with unending devotion that's just
waiting to be shared. I think my nickname should be "Magnificent Maury." I also think that you ought to get
over here so you can meet me and find out that what I'm telling you here is the truth! And, I have many years left to
prove all this to you. I also want to share with you the fact that I adore being held so that I can kiss, kiss, kiss
you. If you choose not to be adorned with many signs of my affection, I'll be thrilled to simply be included in your
life. Plenty active and plenty smart, I long to teach you the true meaning of unconditional love. I'm grateful to be
here, but I'd be lots more grateful to be home…with you.
I, along with the other dogs who were transferred her from Lancaster, hope that soon…very soon…I'll be adopted into
a loving home. Then, I'll be able to finally learn what it's like to be a beloved family member. I can't even begin to tell you
what I've gone through. I've experienced so much hurt and pain from the treatment I was forced to endure for so long. Somehow,
my spirit remained hopeful and now I wag my tail in anticipation of human kindness whenever someone approaches my kennel run. I
adore being stroked and I'm incredibly grateful for any affection shown me. It will be fantastic to go on long walks with my
guardian. Then I can lose some of the extra weight I'm carrying. Hey! Maybe we can diet together! Handsome and charming, I'll
do anything I can to make you happy. I get along with other dogs and have years of undying devotion to heap upon the wonderful
people who afford me the opportunity to, at last, have the life I deserve…a life filled with love and care.

Hi, I'm a super friendly guy who's immensely grateful to be here. After living in Lancaster, enduring the ghastly conditions
and treatment we all were subject to there, I feel like I'm in heaven right now. Although, I realize that TRUE heaven would be
living in my own home where I'm loved by my guardians. I'm so large that sometimes, when I'm lying down, people think I'm a
comfy rug that they can lay their heads on. I find this amusing and wouldn't mind it at all…as long as I know that I'm
loved. Besides, my fur is sooo soft, you'll find stroking me to be a wonderful experience. I'll come right up to the front of
my kennel run here in the hopes that I'll receive human kindness. A caring touch means so much to a dog like myself…one
who's been through the terrible, heartbreaking living conditions that I've been through. I'll spend the rest of my life proving
to you that you made the right decision when you adopted me. Please consider giving me a happy ending to my, so far, lonely existence.

Good natured and as amiable as they get, I'm one heck of a vivacious dog who's delighted to spend time with humans. I also enjoy

Lancaster, I'm eager to be adopted soon so I can bask in the love of people who will care for me for the rest of my life.
Come in to meet me and you'll be awed by my phenomenal personality. Loyal and loving, I'm a resilient guy and you'd never know

people who will recognize me as the incredibly delightful being I am. Meanwhile, look at my picture and check out the smile on my

been through so much trauma in my lifetime, I'm filled with hope and adoration for people. I'm aching to share these feelings

I'm one of the Lancaster group of dogs who was lucky to end up at Pet Orphans. I know I look a little sad in my photo, but that's
only because of the way I lived and how I was mistreated before coming here. Now, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude that my
future will be bright. This is a very nice place to be, but I'm hoping that very soon, I'll be in my own home…a member of a
great family who will make up for the way I've lived until now. Sturdy and active, I'll be eternally grateful to the people who give
me my chance at happiness. I know that there's a bunch of us here to choose from. I only hope and pray that you'll include me in your
ponderings and that I'll win someone's heart before too long. I'll do everything in my power you add sunshine to your life and I'll

COLETTE Oh my gosh, I am so happy you came here
to read my bio! Well, as you can see, I am adorable. I know, I know, all my sisters and my brother
are adorable too, but I have that sweet face that when I tilt my head a little to the side you can't
help but pat my head, which I love. I am looking for a home where I can be a part of a family and
learn what true love is.
NINA Do you have any idea what it feels like being the
only brunette when all your other sisters are blonde?! Maybe it's a good thing because I'll stand out in
the crowd and you'll just have to take me home and love me. I mean, fine, Colette, Fanny and Suzette may
have the girlish looks but I have the humor. Why did the blonde peel the candy coating off the M&Ms?
Because she was making chocolate chip cookies! BOL (Bark Out Loud)
PATRICK One of these things is not like the others!
That's me! It's hard to believe it, but I am the only boy with all my sisters. You can imagine how annoying
they all get – barking on and on about all those girlie things. I can't wait to get out of here and into my
own home where I can be cherished the way a little man like myself deserves to be. In return, my new home
will get a new loyal, best friend in me!
SUZETTE Sweet. Playful. Loving. Just three words to describe
little 'ol me. I am in search of a forever home where I will receive lots of pats, hugs and treats. I don't
think that's too much to ask, really.

SONNY Hi there. I am Sonny which is a good name for me because I am just that – sunny!
I love people and can't wait to meet my new family. Everyone's abuzz here with talk of people coming through Pet Orphans
just to see us. Can you believe it, someone would come to see little old me?! I am so excited! I had better make sure I
look adorable. Roger that - I already look adorable.
TOM When the photographer came in here and said "strike a pose"
I didn't really know what to do. I mean, it's a little stressful to try and come up with an adorable
look. Do I look over my shoulder? Do I lay on a mirror or put a rose in my mouth? Nah, I'll just stare
straight ahead with my big ol paws right there in front of me! I think it works. Now, this is the part
where you come here to meet me, fall instantly in love and we will make full family albums of pics together!
I can't wait.
