SPAY/NEUTER ASSISTANCE

Actors & Others for Animals - (818) 755-6045: Offers FREE spay & neuter surgery for Pitt Bulls, Chihuahuas, Chihuahua-mixes and Rottweilers. They may also provide some financial assistance if you qualify.

1-800-SPAY-4-LA (1-800-772-9452): City of Los Angeles Animal Services offers free spay/neuter services for dogs and cats. The mobile clinic operates by appointment only. Please call to schedule an appointment at the number above. No feral or wild cats.

1-877-SPAY-PET: Organization with about 10 different areas. Call and they will refer you to the closest low cost Veterinarian. They also offer city vouchers and financial aid to help cover the cost of the operation. They do have Spanish speaking operators. ** It's very important to pick the correct area you live in. **

1-888-DOG-SPAY: Operated by the Amanda Foundation through the Simon Foundation. They do cats as well! Call for the schedule of where the van will be. It travels to many lower-income communities on the weekends and does the procedures for FREE. They also offer vaccinations & shots as well.

Pet Orphans of Southern California - (818) 901-0190 ext. 101: Call for city voucher and name/address of specific animal clinics for the procedure.

Pasadena Humane Society – (626) 792-7151: Low cost spay/neuter is available for residents of Pasadena, South Pasadena, La Canada/Flintridge, Glendale, San Marino, Sierra Madre and Altadena. Feral cats are sterilized, vaccinated, and ear tipped for free. Pit bulls and pit mixes are sterilized and microchipped for free. Appointments and proof of residency are required.

Provides free spay/neuter, exam, shots, deworms and defleas for all feral, stray and homeless cats. Reduced rates for tame cats. Traps and training available for trap/neuter/return.

The Stray Cat Alliance - (310) 281-6973: www.straycatalliance.org
This hotline helps callers solve homeless cat situations. They also have humane traps to loan out for trap/neuter/return. Trap depots are spread out around Los Angeles County. At the depots, people are taught how to use the trap, where to go for spay/neuter, and how to care for feral cats.
